The Sound Teacher Ethos
Passionate about the impact of hearing and listening on learning and life. My first priority is to get therapy out there to people and make an immediate difference to their lives.
Aim to meet clients’ needs without over-complicating things. I willingly share strategies that can improve auditory, physical and cognitive health at minimum cost.
Trust the client. I encourage clients to build self-confidence confidence and have shared expectations to stick with a therapy plan and not cut corners.
Recognise we are all human. Sometimes our lives, priorities or circumstances change.
Work mutually. We can always find solutions if things don’t go to plan.
Acknowledge the value of my own practitioner training. Maintaining my Tomatis® licence is the pathway to offer clients access to the Tomatis® method in their own homes.
Pass it forwards. Clients succeed when they become independent and pass on their new found knowledge and skills to family, friends and wider community.
Terms and Conditions
Rationale. Maintaining therapy outcomes is a skill for life. Once a client has accessed the Tomatis® method they are encouraged to become independent and will be supported with this in a variety of ways. The Tomatis® method is most effective when clients share their new found knowledge and pass on skills to family, friends and the wider community. Sound learning for life.
Minimise complex interactions. The Sound Teacher will meet first-time clients face-to-face where possible, to discuss expectations and hand over equipment. Equipment is shipped using special next day delivery that tracks the parcel. This requires the parcel to be properly packaged, addressed and signed for. If equipment is lost in the post and there is no evidence of special delivery or correct address the client will be liable for the cost of replacing the equipment.
The Sound Teacher Ethos and Terms and Conditions are established to minimise:
Interactions that are excessively complex.
Cutting corners with a therapy plan.
Resisting ideas for becoming independent.
Lack of commitment to maintaining therapy outcomes.
Delay in requests for sending equipment/ inadequate shipping conditions.
